One of my first alerts in nursing became crystal clear during my years in the navy was that the R.N. had charge over nearly everything which had effect on the patient; even higher ranking physicians often had to clear their pt. treatments through a lesser ranked officer which the nurse most often was.
The civilian course destroys this concept of patient protection b/c of lawyers functioning at the working end of corporate dollar counters. There maybe valid greed reduction as the concept of hospitals and their personnel could have good outcomes for quick settlements. The blossomed tort reduction laws have help pound this stake into reasonable practices of eliminating trivial complaints. However, it has also helped to cut the tongues out many nurses incompetent reports. The 21st century of the medical community is grossly restrained in openly reporting bad practices and national nursing boards are often run by goddamaned liars who gain advancements via state attorneys such as the red carpet strollers observed in their bastardly illegal whistleblowing nurse discipline. That’s all for now, but nurses need to remember that the regulatory boards are protecting not the pt. but the state and their corporate financial organizations from truthful liabilities. So put the duck tape over your mouth.
